Fortnite has been around for quite a while now, adding endless modes and new content to keep things fresh ever since the battle royale title first launched back in 2017. However, one thing that hasn't been introduced yet is a fully fleshed out Ranked Mode, something which is becomingly increasingly popular in the live-service scene. That looks like it may be about to change soon though, as Epic Games has now teased the addition of Ranked play.

The details are still pretty sparse at the moment, as Epic has only posted a short teaser to the official Fortnite Twitter account at the moment. In this teaser, Epic shows off several badges that increase in complexity and quality. There are eight badges in total, each one possibly signifying a rank. We don't know what the titles of these badges are, though you can clearly see that the first three are Bronze, Silver, and Gold respectively.

That's pretty much all Epic has decided to share with us at the moment, leaving fans to speculate and stew in their excitement. We have no idea when Epic is going to add this new potential Ranked Mode, whatever form it's going to take, but chances are it could be a new addition to Chapter 4 Season 3, which is expected to kick off at the beginning of June. At least we know it's coming though, and Fortnite fans are more than thrilled about it.

The replies to Fortnite's little teaser are filled with excited fans, as it appears Ranked Mode will be a pretty popular addition should Epic stick the landing. There are plenty of people calling the mode a "game changer", with others crossing their fingers that Ranked will also be able to play in No Build as well. There are also a few people that are willing to return to Fortnite to give the new Ranked Mode a try, meaning the title could see a swell of returning players next season.

As for other new addition coming to Fortnite soon, it was recently leaked by the PS4 PlayStation Store that Dragon Ball's Goku Black will be heading to the battle royale title as previously rumored. Fortnite has been pretty eager to do anime collaborations these days - with the ongoing Attack on Titan collaboration being the most recent example - so it's not too surprising that Epic is teaming up with Dragon Ball yet again after the success of the previous collaboration last year.
