While it can seem like Xbox and PlayStation are locked in a deadly battle, as they fight for supremacy each generation, to rule as the number one console, in reality things are different. For instance, many gamers might even have multiple consoles, or they own one and wonder what it would be like to own the other.
Recently, a discussion on the popular XboxSeriesX subreddit generated hundreds of comments as a PlayStation owner who was curious about the other side asked Xbox owners to share what they think is their favourite thing about owning one. "As a PlayStation owner who is thinking of buying the Xbox, what's your favourite feature or game or aspect to it that you love?" the OP asked. Xbox players were more than ready to provide answers and a consensus seemed to form about the console's best feature.
One of the most popular comments mentioned one of the Xbox Series' killer features. "I love quick resume for single player games," wrote a commentor who also praised the console's backwards compatibility, and which has received hundreds of upvotes.

Many chimed in to say the same, that Quick Resume is one of the best things about the Xbox Series X and S. If you don't know what Quick Resume is, it's the ability to turn off the console and turn it back on and to simply resume wherever it was you last left the game. The whole thing happens smoothly and very quickly. One commentor said that even after unplugging the console the game starts where you left it, although this kind of action isn't advisable.
As mentioned, backwards compatibility is another feature that players like, with the Xbox Series supporting much older games, including Xbox classics like the original Halo and the Fable series. In addition to that, often these games will receive boosts like HDR and improvements to the framerate, which one commentor referred to as a "big win".
While others also mentioned how speedy loading times and the quietness of the Xbox Series in operation, it was surprising to see how relatively little games were mentioned although this could be related to how the original inquiry was phrased. But the discussion did take on a console focus with perhaps an overlooked feature being the Xbox's automatic cloud saves, which owners find convenient.
But time and time again, Quick Resume was brought up, with backwards compatibility also a firm favourite. Game Pass also featured fairly heavily. Overall, it's a useful thread for PS5 owners peeking over at Microsoft's console, or for those trying to decide between which platform to get into, to read at leisure. While games were not as discussed as much, for those technically savvy it's a useful read for the conveniences the Xbox brings over PlayStation this gen.
