The early reactions to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor might have been mixed so far, but I think there's one thing we can all agree on. Performance issues aside, we all love Turgle the Frog Man. The newest quirky character to become canon in a galaxy far, far away has been turning a lot of heads since launch, and it seems the actor who plays the amphibious new addition is blown away by all the love their character has received.

Turns out Turgle is played by Richard Horvitz, and they've seen all the nice things you've been saying about their performance and the new character added to the Star Wars universe. “I am so proud to be a part of Star Wars canon after so many years. And I am so very touched by all the fan love for this little guy,” Horvitz tweeted.

Whether you're waiting until after Tears of the Kingdom to play Jedi: Survivor, or simply waiting for it to be in better shape, don't worry, knowing about Turgle doesn't appear to be that big a spoiler. In fact, Turgle's role in Survivor seems to be pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. The reason Turgle has been getting so much attention is thanks to Prima Games' Jesse Vitelli. Their review of the game revolved around Turgle, and the frog man's fame has grown ever since.

As noted, not everything about Jedi: Survivor since launch has been fun stuff about its little frog guy. In fact, the spotlight has largely been shone on some of the glaring issues the game has, particularly its PC version. EA attempted to get ahead of the backlash by confirming it had weeks of patches in the pipeline before Survivor even launched. Some of those updates have already gone live, including patches for PC and consoles on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

If you have managed to play through its problems, or not experience them at all, odds are you've been enjoying your time with Jedi: Survivor quite a bit. On top of a new character that will likely be well-loved for years to come, and hopefully pop up in future Star Wars projects, there are also plenty of references to characters and moments from throughout the series' history. Not to mention a hat tip to Super Metroid via a trio of furry little aliens showing Cal Kestis how to wall jump.
