The Graverobber in Darkest Dungeon 2 is an extremely versatile character who can benefit just about any party. Fast, precise, and largely self-sufficient, she excels at clearing away obstacles and finishing off enemies at Death's Door. Best of all, she can easily gain Stealth to avoid retaliation and set herself up for her next turn.
Like all of Darkest Dungeon 2's heroes, the Graverobber has access to a large number of Skills but can only have five equipped at a time. We've put together our favorite combinations for you to try. This guide assumes you've unlocked all the Graverobber's Skills through repeated visits to the Hero Shrine. But if you're just getting started or simply haven't dedicated the time to her just yet, you can probably get them all within a few runs.
Updated on May 31, 2023 by Matt Arnold: The Graverobber has settled into a tempo-based role in the full launch of Darkest Dungeon 2, making her one of the most satisfying classes to play when used correctly. Check out our new guide on using all of her Paths below!
Graverobber Skills
The Graverobber boasts the highest overall crit rate in the game, which helps offset her middling base damage. She'll never be your main damage-dealer, but in a secondary or support role she absolutely shines.

The Best Builds For Each Graverobber Path
Regardless of which Path you choose, the Graverobber is all about tempo. Make use of her high Speed to seize the initiative in every battle, then alternate between gaining and exploiting Stealth based on her current Path's bonuses.
Path | Effects | Recommended Skills | Recommended Trinkets |
---|---|---|---|
Wanderer |

Deadeye |

Venomdrop |

Wanderer
The basic plan for the Graverobber is to start in the front of the party, opening each fight with Pirouette to put some damage on the two front enemies right away. From there, wear down the monsters with Poison Dart and clear them with Dead Of Night once they fall. Lunge, followed up with Pick To The Face, is a fast and efficient way of finishing off a stubborn foe.
Deadeye
Like the Wanderer, the Deadeye should start each battle with Pirouette, dealing massive damage thanks to the Path's bonuses. Once she's in the rear, just have the Deadeye unload on the enemy with Thrown Dagger, or move her forward one space with the Jester's Battle Ballad to set her up for Glint In The Dark.
Venomdrop
This Path is used alongside other Blight-intensive Heroes like the Plague Doctor or Flagellant to wear down bosses and other large foes. Start with Shadow Fade to get Stealth, then use the Path's extra Blight from Poison Dart to load up a target with damage-over-time stacks. By the time the Venomdrop's Stealth is gone, there should be an enemy corpse that you can use to regain it via Dead Of Night.
Nightsworn
The Nightsworn also relies on Stealth, so open with Shadow Fade to get the most out of this Path. Alternate between Lunge and Shadow Fade to deal heavy damage, switching to Pick To The Face when the time comes to finish an enemy with low HP.
Emergency Option - The Dodge-Tank Graverobber
Bad things happen in Darkest Dungeon. If a party member dies, the Graverobber is versatile enough to temporarily slide into an alternate role. She shouldn't be out of her comfort zone for long, but all you need to do is survive until the next Inn, where hopefully a new recruit will be waiting for you.
If your tank is dead and you need to keep the rest of the party alive, some quick skill swaps can make the Graverobber a passable tank - albeit one that avoids damage rather than soaking it up:
Exchange Dead of Night for Absinthe and Poison Dart for Repartee. You'll need to use Shadow Fade to keep Stealth up unless you've been very lucky with Trinket drops. Once the Graverobber is in Stealth, use Repartee to gain two Taunts and three Dodges. This will draw most attacks to the Graverobber and mitigate much of the damage. When she needs healing, have the Graverobber take a sip of Absinthe, which will also give her a stack of Dodge.
She won't be able to keep this up forever, especially since she only has three bottles of Absinthe per battle - have the rest of your party finish off the enemy as quick as they can. Don't forget to use Glint In The Dark as soon as an enemy hits Death's Door. If you have to go this route, avoid combat as much as you can and rush for the Inn.
